
Neil Fromer
Host and Moderator, Resnick Institute, Caltech
Neil Fromer is the Executive Director of Programs at the Resnick Sustainability Institute. He works with researchers across the Caltech campus and around the world to develop new ideas meant to create a sustainable future, and to translate those ideas quickly from the lab to the marketplace. He has 20 years of experience at the forefront of technology development for energy and sustainability. He has worked on the development of new solar energy technologies and conducted research on energy storage, clean-fuel generation and use, smarter energy and water distribution systems, and energy efficiency.
Neil has been with the Resnick Sustainability Institute at Caltech since 2010. He received a PhD in physics from UC Berkeley and a BS in engineering and physics from Brown University. His recent edited volume, Scarcity in the Modern World, is available from Bloomsbury Academic Press.
